Speed, precision and pixels for the V-Class and Vito facelift
Over 500 configuration-accurate images and a WebGL configurator, delivered for Mercedes-Benz China on a demanding timeline.

Localized content for a global brand
For Mercedes-Benz, the ambition to lead every market comes with a particular challenge. The high level of customization offered in each region does not only mean different versions of the product. It also demands personalized marketing content, because every market has its own dynamics, cultural nuances and buyer preferences that a headquarters cannot serve alone.
Local branches are expected to procure hyper-localized content that resonates with their audience while keeping the Mercedes-Benz brand identity intact. For the V-Class and Vito facelift, Mercedes-Benz China needed exactly that, at scale and on a tight schedule.

Tailored visualization at scale
Our brief was immense: more than 500 images and a WebGL configurator, with every exterior colour, wheel, trim and interior rendered to match its real-world counterpart. Using our in-house ZS Configuration Manager, we mapped every option and dependency so that each image was generated from a single, verified source of truth.
No detail was too small. We matched the paint, the transparency of tinted glass and the brightness of each lamp against physical references, producing a library that met the client's expectations for both accuracy and beauty.

Precision and consistency in the interior
Interiors are where CGI earns its keep. Each button, feature and component was mapped in exact detail, and strict quality control at every stage ensured discrepancies between render and product were caught before they became a problem. Accurate portrayal is not only a creative goal. It protects the brand from legal exposure and protects the customer's trust.

The challenge of upholstery
Interior materials are a unique test. Every colour interacts differently with light, producing its own reflections, texture and sheen, and stitching patterns must survive close inspection. Our material system reproduces how each upholstery behaves under the studio lighting so that what a customer sees online is what they will sit in.

Beauty lies in the details
Automotive manufacturers invest enormous effort in the minute aspects of an interior, from the subtle pattern in a plastic surface to the engraving on a button. These details may not always be consciously registered, but they are felt. We mirror them in every frame.

Angles photography cannot reach
One of the unique advantages of CGI is the freedom to show perspectives that are physically impossible. The ample legroom of the V-Class, for example, can be presented from viewpoints no camera could occupy, letting the audience truly experience the product.

A WebGL configurator built for performance
To engage potential buyers directly, we designed and implemented an interactive web configurator using the latest WebGL technology. It presents every configuration option in a serene setting and lets customers interact intimately with the vehicle, which deepens understanding and stimulates the purchase decision.
The hardest part of any car configurator is a beautiful interior that loads fast. We pre-rendered 360° panoramas instead of streaming heavy geometry, which gave us a photoreal cabin without compromising interactivity. To cover every upholstery colour from three viewpoints, the driver's seat and both rear rows, we produced 45 panoramas at 8K resolution.

The result
A content system that delivered high-quality results under a tight schedule, looks beautiful across product pages and the configurator, and provides an immersive experience for the end customer.
